Rupee Fixed Deposits - NRO Cumulative Deposit

Funding your account

To deposit money in your NRE Fixed Deposit, you can:

	Transfer funds from abroad in a freely convertible foreign currency.
	Tender foreign currency notes/traveller's cheques brought to India by you or another NRI.
	Transfer funds from an existing NRE/FCNR Account held in other banks Upon change of status from NRI to RI the responsibility of informing the bank remains with the customer.

	NRO account can be held in Rupees only.
	NRO accounts can be held jointly with Residents.
	In case of change of status of a person from Resident to Non-Resident, his existing Resident Account has to be designated as an NRO Account.
