How do I fund my Account?

You can fund your NRO Account with funds transferred from abroad in a freely convertible foreign currency in an approved manner or from an existing NRE/FCNR Account held in other banks.

You may also directly remit the amount to us.

You can also open your NRO Account by tendering foreign currency notes/traveler's cheques brought in during your visit to India.

Upon change of status from NRI to RI the responsibility of informing the bank remains with the customer.

  • NRO account can be held in Rupees only.
  • NRO accounts can be held jointly with Residents.
In case of change of status of a person from Resident to Non-Resident, his existing resident account will have to be closed and the proceeds transferred to an NRO account.
