As a first-time user of Mi-remit, you have to complete a one-time registration
process where you are required to add your US bank account details. Your
details are ascertained through a verification process that takes 3 working
days. You can book a remittance after successful verification of your account.
Mi-remit notifies you by e-mail once your account is activated. To check the

What information do I need to furnish for the one-time
registration process?
For one-time registration, you need to provide the following details:

Your US bank's 9 digit ABA number.
How are the funds transferred from my US bank account?
Funds are transferred from your US bank account via Automated Clearing House
(ACH).
In the US, the ACH network is a reliable and efficient nationwide electronic
funds transfer system governed by the National Automated Clearing House
Association's operating rules that authorize inter-bank clearing of electronic
payments.
What are the account validation and activation processes?
The account validation process is undertaken to prevent any misuse of your
account. It ensures that only the account holder can use this facility. The
validation and activation processes involve the following steps:

A nominal amount in cents is debited and credited to your account.

Mi-remit intimates you by e-mail that the test debit and credit amount has been
initiated to your account.

You must refer to your Bank Statement for the exact amount that is debited and
credited.

When you log on to Mi-remit, your transaction status will show, "Click to
Verify". You need to enter the exact amount in the space provided.

If the details match the actual transactions carried out by us, your account is
activated.
What type of US bank accounts can be used for online
transfers?
For online transfers, you can use an individual Checking Account or an
individual Savings Account with a US bank affiliated to the ACH network.
What is an ABA number?
ABA or the American Bankers' Association Number is a "Routing Transit" number.
It is an identification number assigned to each financial institution and each
branch office of that financial institution. Remember, without the ABA/Routing
number, you cannot transmit funds.
Where can I check the status of my transaction?
You can check the transaction status on the Online Tracker at Mi-remit.
When is money transferred from my bank account?
Generally, money is transferred from your bank account to us on the 3rd or 4th
working day from the date of booking your remittance. You have to ensure that
your account has sufficient funds for the transfer to take place. All holidays
- weekends and public holidays - in India and the US are excluded while
calculating working days.
